Scripture. “Blessed are those doing His commands, so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the city.” Ḥazon (Revelation) 22:14 (TS2009).
Reflection. Entering through the gates into the city is akin to entering into the renewed heaven and the renewed earth to dwell with יהוה Elohim for all of eternity. But יהוה Elohim will permit only those who have eaten of the tree of life to enter through the gates to His city to dwell with Him for all of eternity. And יהוה Elohim will permit only those who are doing His commands to eat of the tree of life.
Application. A life of sexual immorality, pharmakeia, murder, idolatry, and the practice of falsehood will forfeit eternal life with יהוה Elohim. Sexual immorality is rampant within the military ranks. Pharmakeia is killing veterans of war at alarming rates. Murder in the name of the statue of liberty is idolatry. And partaking in the aforementioned while claiming to follow יהושע Messiah is the practice of falsehood. Genuine repentance requires an about face from the aforementioned and a return to the narrow path of doing the commands of יהוה Elohim. And those who continue along the wide path of destruction are much more likely to experience suicide, divorce, and disintegration after war.
